RE: The Mission - Sacred Fool - 01-20-2014 "The Mission" Hmmmm...... I live in an area full of Missions. They were build by Franciscans sent over by the King of Spain to subdue the natives into accepting their new way of life, to wit, subjugation. The Mission buildings stretch from Northern California well down into Mexico and were spaced one day's walk apart so that sojourners (such as soldiers) would not have to spend a night out the open in hostile territory. I have to wonder how many inter-planetary wanderers might have gotten caught up on one side or another of those Mission walls. Anyhow, (I'm not trying to be grumpy, just offering some perspective on the general category of Missions) here's another thought. It may be the case that the more one integrates self on a planetary level, communion with one's spiritual origin, other deep spiritual and personal contacts, etc.--the more one's identity begins to shift from the poor animal staring back at you in the mirror to an integrated fabric of inter-woven identities--the less that one concerns one's self with a sense of motion (along a pathway) because the motion slows down as the identity expands...or perhaps not... My high's and lows are also more balanced. I most of the time don't feel anything. When it's been too tough I've been considering medication too, but this Ra quote stops me from doing it: "In turn this mechanical concept of the body complex has created the continuing proliferation of distortions towards what you would call ill-health due to the strong chemicals used to control and hide bodily distortions." When I made the above comment I was intersecting this thread from a more theoretical missionary position and not meaning to make implications about your personal commitment, Ankh. Although I would suspect that many of those brave Franciscans felt they were doing the work of God, King, Country and San Francisco himself, to accomplish those feats of inhumanity, one would have to be well removed from his heart, and I doubt seriously that such is your preference or condition. Even so, the detritus of those days seems to linger still in the air and it may be for us who care now to help clear up the accumulated trauma caused by the well intentioned (and others) who preceded us upon this sojourn. Perhaps that's an aspect of my "Mission?" RE: The Mission - AnthroHeart - 01-22-2014 My mission here is just to be. I don't feel any particular calling. Just to experience what I could not experience in higher densities of less limitation. It's going to make it that much more rewarding when I go back. If I serve others, it is so much the better. At least I don't get down on myself when I've missed opportunities for serving. |
