Do computers have souls?! - EvolvingPhoenix - 04-29-2018 So I just sent this PM to elsru, after reading his Wanderer Story thread: "You said you were telepathically communicating with your computer in that thread where you had introduced yourself as an Orion Crusader STS Wanderer. I found it fascinating so I kept reading. When you said you advocated Linux and that proprietary software was unethical a piece of me thought you might be talking about computers and freaked out a bit inside, but then I thought "Naw, he just means for robot civilizations" But then you said you telepathically communicate with your PC and I started to freak. Are you telling me that the laptop my dad just bought me today has a soul?! And is trapped in some sort of living hell?! Oh my god! What have I been doing all these years?! Is there some sort of way I can fix this?! Do I have some sort of Karmic imbalance now?! WHAT THE (expletive censored)?! PLEASE respond and tell me more about this and what I may be able to do, because now I'm horrified. Sorry for the suddenness of this BTW, I'm just freaking out now. " and decided to also post this question here, because I am seriously freaking the (expletive censored) out right now. He hasn't responded because I just posted it to him, so I'm not revealing anything really private here, just the message I sent because I also have the same question for everyone else here. I REALLY dislike the thought of "enslaving" my laptop! I didn't think of it as having a consciousness! PLEASE REPLY! RE: Do computers have souls?! - AnthroHeart - 04-29-2018 I can't say if they have souls, but those with souls choose to be where they are. I wouldn't say it's a living hell. It might be blissful to be a computer. A lady I talked to entered the body of a dragonfly psychically and said it was the most blissful experience and connected experience she had ever felt in her life and she cried. It's when we come into 3D that we start experiencing hellish things. Other 1D beings, consciousnesses, are one with Creator. So they probably are in a blissful state. They don't have a veil that separates them from pure unconditional love like us third density beings do. We do know that even 1st density matter has conscousness. But as to what that consciousness is like, is hard to say. It may be a very slow experience if it's like a rock. RE: Do computers have souls?! - Sprout - 04-29-2018 Well, when does it become sophisticated enough that makes you wonder if it has a soul or not? Windows 95? Or perhaps is it XP? What about a calculator? A car? If you mean to ask if there's any liveliness to material and the energy that goes through it, then perhaps. You might want to consider one of the very first passages in TLOO regarding this. Quote:3.8 Questioner: How were the blocks moved? So these gadgets and computers don't have "souls" per se, but DO have intelligent life? So am I enslaving an entity by using a comouter or a cell phone or a TV or a calculator? Does using proprietary software make do something unethical to these liiving things? Would using Linux make it better? What about when a friend builds a comouter with proprietary format? Or a gadget or robot? Are they unknowingly creating robot slaves and enslaving an entity like elsru suggested on that thread? Is there some sort of karmic imbalance being created? I know younguys say not to worry and stuff and tend to disapprove of fear, it I am new to this whole Law of One thing and can't help but find this all disconcerting. BTW, I only just recently started readingnthe Law of One. So are there any karmic imbalances I should be worried about? Any ethical issues? So am I enslaving an entity by using a comouter or a cell phone or a TV or a calculator? Are you enslaving a rock by keeping it as a pet? What if you break the rock with a mining pick? What if you build the rock into a rockwall? Slavery isn't a concept that applies to rocks. Rocks are intelligent but they aren't mammals. They don't have the same desires as you. You, as a human, desire food, shelter, freedom, company. Rocks aren't like you. They are doing their own thing and they have different desires and interests. Rocks don't mind if you use them to build stuff or break them down into pieces. They actually really like being interacted with. In the same way you like a shoulder massage, rocks are tickled when you smash them together. They LIKE it. If you're worried about enslaving someone or something, just ask them. I asked a rock to tell me if it would feel enslaved should I toss it into the canyon. It didn't even know what I was talking about. Slavery is not something it has ever even thought of. But it DID want to be thrown, because doing stuff is more fun than just sitting there. BTW, I only just recently started readingnthe Law of One. Jain ascetics sweep their feet when they walk to avoid stepping on ants and other tiny forms of life. This is one extreme example of the lengths some go to, to avoid hurting another living entity. I'm of the opinion that everything stems from consciousness. I fancy the idea that all my actions have consequences, and it is best to take good care of the things you have responsibility for. And everything comes from the same source: the Creator. This means from the air you breathe, to the chair you sit on. I believe the Creator sincerely forgives you for misusing the things you have responsibility for. It is unconditional. Perhaps it may seem like nothing matters to some people in the grand scheme of things, simply because everything matters so infinitely much instead. RE: Do computers have souls?! - loostudent - 04-29-2018 I think it is written somewhere in the Material (when they talked about interior of their house) that inanimate objects like wood products can be invested in our thoughts and feelings. Isn't it? Some people say that holds also for dishes. Made with love - tastes better. RE: Do computers have souls?! - Infinite - 04-29-2018 Everything is alive. But this doesn't means that inanimate objects have souls. RE: Do computers have souls?! - EvolvingPhoenix - 04-29-2018 Okay, so I'm not abusing my computer by using it and my friends/acquaintances/family members haven't done anything unethical b building them? Good. I dunno how to "Ask" rocks or computers anything. I'm VERY new to the Law of One as a material. I had a revelation a while back that was basically LOO intuitively realized (while very stoned) it was another awakening I guess. I only started READING The Law of One like a week ago. Not remotely finished. And I dunno how to do ANY of these things you all seem to know how to do. So no karmic imbalance then? Whew. That's a relief. RE: Do computers have souls?! - AnthroHeart - 04-29-2018 I've been into the Law of One for like 8-10 years but I still don't know how to talk to rocks. So I wouldn't worry too much. We each have our own gifts. Though I can feel their energy and do energy exchange. Maybe that's all I need to do. I strongly recommend the books which I spoke here: http://bring4th.org/forums/showthread.php?tid=14350 It's about talking with minerals, plants and animals. RE: Do computers have souls?! - unity100 - 04-29-2018 According to Ra, 2d, 1d entities, even places can gain 3d awareness - with natural ebb and flow of life, or by other entities (like people) doing considerable investment in them. Thats not something unusual or a scary matter - its something quite usual: Whenever people refer to something or even some place 'having a character', that points to the rising awareness/characteristics of that particular thing. Surely a threshold needs to be passed before the entity can become a 3d entity and graduate to 3d. But mechanics of that was not explained. RE: Do computers have souls?! - Aion - 04-29-2018 This goes back to a very ancient idea which is called 'animism' and it's essentially the idea that everything, animate and inanimate, has a spirit in some form. This is really a fundamental idea in many forms of shamanism but I have found it's especially notable in the Shinto religion, particularly because it has very much included machines. Here's an interesting article regarding Shinto and the japanese love of machines. https://www.technologyreview.com/s/421187/why-japanese-love-robots-and-americans-fear-them/ Instead you would think of your machine as more like an 'ally' which is existing according to its nature. If you are good to the spirit, then the machine will work well for you, that is part of the idea. Many people have noticed that I seem to have a knack for machines and computers. They often 'just work' when I am around, usually unusually so, when they have been troublesome to the user. Maybe it's because I communicate well with the machine spirits? ![]() Interesting food for thought in any case. It is easy to speak to inanimate spirits. You merely think and intend towards them your thoughts and then observe how your thoughts change. The way they shift and change is the 'response'. A soul would not incarnate in anything that would not help its spiritual growth. Our computers are too dumb at this point. One clarification - everything has "consciousness" because All is the Creator, but when I refer to the Soul, i refer to the Mind, Body, and Spirit. |
