shampoos and stuff - xlsander - 02-14-2011 since we all realize we live in a STS corrupted corporate systemically designed world and we are constantly targeted in our minds by media in our food in our _____ (put here what you like) also in cosmetics what about soaps and shampoos and stuff like that - since we use this on a daily basis and our bodies and our skin gets in touch with it and might absorb whatever - how do you deal with that? ![]() RE: shampoos and stuff - Meerie - 02-14-2011 ![]() I usually buy cosmetics in the organic stores or nowadays mostly in dm drogeriemarkt. Do you have these in Berlin, too? their CEO Götz Werner is a very STO oriented person, see here http://www.manager-magazin.de/unternehmen/karriere/0,2828,284159,00.html and their organic cosmetic line alverde http://www.deutscher-nachhaltigkeitspreis.de/files/kurzbegruendung_alverde_final.pdf is great! Tested without cruelty to animals and some of the products even qualify as vegan. Shampoos without silicone etc... and their products are less expensive than the organic trade marks, like Dr Hauschka and logona for example. And you do not have to pay for the publicity, like with conventional cosmetics that have TV commercials. Since there is no publicity ![]() RE: shampoos and stuff - xlsander - 02-14-2011 (02-14-2011, 10:21 AM)Meerie Wrote: great i was actually waiting for your response and i actually also prefer DM too ![]() RE: shampoos and stuff - Meerie - 02-14-2011 That is great! ![]() Have you ever tried the Olive Volume shampoo? that is my favorite. They also have a limited range of foodstuff (alnatura), like cashew nuts or the yummy yummy spelt sesame bretzels... here in Munich alnatura has opened a supermarket but I have not been there yet. RE: shampoos and stuff - xlsander - 02-14-2011 (02-14-2011, 10:38 AM)Meerie Wrote: That is great! yes i know their nuts - i like the macadamia - I will check their shampoos we have al natura supermarket here too - and bio company and bio verte or so I have been checking all of them frequently these last weeks - you do spend at least 30-50% more on your food - but the vegetables taste so real - a salad actually gets you saturated and it feels good too ![]() RE: shampoos and stuff - Lavazza - 02-14-2011 I recently switched to natural deodorants. Not to side step some STS agenda, but to keep my t-shirts from being ruined! Most deoderants contains aluminum in some form, which is what contributes to your old t-shirts' black armpit stains. I would always feel bummed when I'd have to throw out an otherwise fine shirt... SO now I use the 'Jason' and 'Thom's of Maine' brands. They aren't that much more expensive either: http://www.tomsofmaine.com/home http://www.jason-natural.com/products/deodorants.php Jason's is the best in my opinion. cheers, Eric RE: shampoos and stuff - turtledude23 - 02-14-2011 I use pure vegetable glycerine soap which is the most basic kind of soap possible, no perfumes or unneeded additives. I use shampoo made by a company called Nature Clean, it doesn't have any of the suspected carcinogens, petro chemicals, and phosphates all mainstream shampoos have: http://www.naturecleanliving.com/herbal_shampoo . I use a deodorant which doesn't have aluminum in it, I think the company that makes it is called Nature's Gate. I use flouride free toothpaste by a company called Green Beaver. I use laundry and dishwashing detergents that don't have some bad stuff in them, forgot what. There are relatively healthy alternatives to all personal hygiene and household cleaning products, available in local natural food stores or in the organic section of savvier supermarkets. RE: shampoos and stuff - Meerie - 02-15-2011 Yeah I heard that some of these deodorants even are suspected of causing breast cancer (the aluminium and other stuff that is inside) - they found out that many women had their cancer close to the armpits. I have stopped using deodorant altogether - my natural smell is better than any deodorant ![]() I cannot stand the artificial deodorants that some people use... there is a guy in my house, I once made the mistake to step into the elevator with him... suffice to say I will not do it again. He uses deodorant with artificial lemon flavor, very intense and almost like citrus detergents... absolutely disgusting. I just wonder, have all these people lost their olfactorial sense? Some really seem to bath in perfume / deodorant... RE: shampoos and stuff - xlsander - 02-15-2011 so what do we do about hairspray ... sounds kinda funny i know - but i have lets say stubborn hair and i have a job where i need to have my hair in order - so i would either require to trim it down or use stuff ... but never heard of bio hairspray - did you? :-D RE: shampoos and stuff - Meerie - 02-15-2011 Try this http://www.ciao.de/Balea_Haarlack__Test_2615743 it is without Treibgas, in einer Pumpsprühflasche (sorry do not know the English word ![]() I sometimes use it to fix my long hair. If you take too much it will be a bit gluey (klebrig?) The smell is a bit more agreable than usually the hairspray smell. I think it depends on the quality of your hair if it works for you or not... my mum has very thin hair for example and she did not like it. Mine is quite thick, maybe it works better for thick hair. RE: shampoos and stuff - Peregrinus - 02-18-2011 without Treibgas, in einer Pumpsprühflasche = without propellant in a pump spray bottle. Ich kann Deutsch sprechen auch. RE: shampoos and stuff - Meerie - 02-18-2011 Danke Bruder Peregrinus ![]() Hope your surgery goes well. Namasté. RE: shampoos and stuff - christopher - 06-16-2011 might i recommend not using shampoo at all!? its really not necessary. same with body soap or deodorant. i havent used shampoo for over 3 weeks now and people still think i poo and condition it. theres a transition period of about a week or two where your hair will be greasy, but then it gets back to normal. a natural normal before it ever had to deal with shampoo stripping the natural oils. RE: shampoos and stuff - Oceania - 06-17-2011 i used tea tree oil and mint, it's awesome. i know i shouldn't though. but it's not tested on animals. |
