Nano quadrotors - 3DMonkey - 02-25-2012 RE: Nano quadrotors - Plenum - 02-25-2012 so this is how the world ends? we get swarmed? RE: Nano quadrotors - 3DMonkey - 02-25-2012 Lol. A friend made a good point. If they are going to do it, they better do it in twenty minutes or less. RE: Nano quadrotors - Ali Quadir - 02-25-2012 I for one welcome our new quadrotor overlords... ![]() RE: Nano quadrotors - Ruth - 02-25-2012 It's fun to watch! I used to fly remote controlled planes - I'm guessing they use computerized navs for these little creatures. RE: Nano quadrotors - Diana - 02-25-2012 Very cool. You can imagine the fun of the people who developed these little machines (although I don't get the "nano" because they are so big; I suppose some of the parts were manufactured with nano technology?). It's what humans do with this of course that matters. But it's been in the works for some time. I'm sure the military is already using such for reconnaissance or delivery. Technology will not be halted (unless we destroy ourselves). The brilliant Michael Crighton wrote a book about nano machines which used logarithms for movement derived from insect behaviors called Prey. He always did extensive research, so whatever he wrote was very up-to-date. His last book, which was finished by another author because Michael died, is Micro, and uses miniaturizing technology to bring humans down to the insect world, and is really fascinating. RE: Nano quadrotors - GrandKitaro777 - 02-25-2012 That's scary. :/ RE: Nano quadrotors - drifting pages - 02-26-2012 That's awesome the better the technology the closer it will be to meet the physical world with our imagination. RE: Nano quadrotors - Parsons - 02-26-2012 Even one of those sounds extremely loud. This wouldnt work for surveying civilians unless they were extremely noisy civilians operating heavy machinery or something. The figure 8 and the flying through the window and reforming was really impressive. Not to be a 1 upper, but I saw this article about remote controlled insects a few months back: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15875522 RE: Nano quadrotors - 3DMonkey - 02-26-2012 Gaw, it's not a competition,D ![]() Friend says, "batteries are going to need to improve draaaaastically. Right now, if these thing are going to take over the world, they better do it in twenty minutes or less" RE: Nano quadrotors - Parsons - 02-27-2012 I was joking about the 1 upper part... They are flying nano-machines, I posted it because it was related. ![]() RE: Nano quadrotors - godwide_void - 02-27-2012 Awesome, now it's only a matter of time until a messed up Matrix/Terminator hybrid scenario happens. DID WE LEARN NOTHING FROM THOSE MOVIES!? RE: Nano quadrotors - 3DMonkey - 02-27-2012 I learned tha clothes can't make it thru a time warp. Lol. Hair and skin, yes. Pants, no. RE: Nano quadrotors - Bring4th_Austin - 03-01-2012 This is much more serious than we thought ![]() RE: Nano quadrotors - Conifer16 - 03-01-2012 My GOD!!!! That was amazing :-D they have to make an all quadrotor concert now :-) -Conifer17- Adonai Vasu Borragus RE: Nano quadrotors - Parsons - 03-02-2012 Wow those things are versatile |
