Lol Zen, then neither could be confirmed so the whole situation could be safely ignored by the general public.
As for the meteor... /shrug It certainly doesn't make me fearful.

But did NASA confirm it had a "good chance" of colliding with Earth?

It will not hit because it is to fast, it would have to be travelling lower then 26.00 km altitude.
And even if it had fallen, it would only obliterate at maximum a big city(very unlikely this is a big planet in comparison), if it had fallen on the ocean the tsunami would be 30 cm high.... lol

The article I posted seems to have been edited. My topic title was copy-pasted straight from the first paragraph, which now says "NASA's data shows the 60-meter asteroid, spotted by Spanish stargazers in February, will whistle by Earth in 11 months."
Sorry for the poor source guys.
