Would you let this dog live? - Monica - 12-09-2012 http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/480/animal-sacrifice?act=3 Fast forward to 38:30 Act III "All about Piney" RE: Would you let this dog live? - norral - 12-09-2012 i guess i would say why wouldnt u let the dog live no ? did he bite anyone ? if so muzzle him when out in public so he is not a risk. dogs i have found take on neuroses just like humans perhaps even more so. a lot i believe depends of how the dog is treated during the first 2 years of their life. sadly a lot of them are mistreated and become distrustful of humans and they need treatment if they are ever going to regain their joy and compassion and love again and learn to be comfortable around strangers. so personally i would let the doggie live . norral ![]() RE: Would you let this dog live? - Lycen - 12-09-2012 Yes I would RE: Would you let this dog live? - Monica - 12-09-2012 Did you listen to the whole interview? All of it? It's actually quite an interesting story. RE: Would you let this dog live? - norral - 12-09-2012 ill listen later i only heard part of it RE: Would you let this dog live? - Monica - 12-09-2012 (12-09-2012, 10:44 AM)norral Wrote: ill listen later i only heard part of it OK. I listened from 38:30 till the end. And yes the story is quite umm bizarre/interesting ![]() I get it why he and she are how they are, at least I think so. And they explained it well in my eyes. Basically its how they have chosen/accepted their life to be, it may have not been the intention in the beginning. But now it is a part of their lives, maybe a "heavy burden", yet actually gives more. I can't speak in behalf of them, but to me the man and woman felt happy. Taking care of a being that is "disturbed" can be fulfilling, call it a sacrifice, if one must. As the man said, he could get the dog killed anytime. But he has chosen not and he can not/will not push the burden on someone els. How ever hard and "crazy", they have decided to work with the being. I am reflecting, yet so I see/feel this. I would take care of such dog as well, so I think. But knowingly I would not choose this kinda service, I think again. Well these are a few of my thoughts. Must sleep NAoooo! ![]() Edit: (02-19-2013, 02:25 PM)Bring4th_Monica Wrote: Lycen, somehow I missed your post! Sorry! Thank you for you're concern, I am touched! All is well .) I'll still refrain from voicing my own opinion until more people have listened to the interview. (I don't want to give away the punchline.) |
