L/L Research T-Shirt Design Contest! - Bring4th_Austin - 10-09-2013
Calling all artists, designers, and creative minds!
L/L Research is in the process of revamping what little merchandise we carry, including rethinking our current t-shirt design. Our R&D department is lacking a bit in manpower, consisting as it does of two long-haired hippies with minimal (read: zero) graphic design experience. So we are reaching out to the community and asking for your help.
Do you have at least one artistic bone in your body? Would you like to take a shot at creating a design for L/L? We would love to take a gander at your t-shirt designing chops. If your design is chosen for our new t-shirts, we will send you one shirt and one L/L Resaerch published book of your choice, give you recognition in the online store (if desired), and your artistic talent will become a part of L/L Research.
We are a non-profit organization funded mostly by donations. Book and merchandise sales make up a small portion of our revenue. Offering merchandise helps to increase our typically tight revenue, provides us a way to stay engaged with the community, and allows anyone to creatively show their appreciation and enthusiasm about the Law of One and L/L Research.
We’re looking for a design which reflects the spirit of L/L Research and the material we offer. An inclusion of any or all of these would be a plus:
- L/L's logo of Pablo Picasso’s "Don Quixote" (http://goo.gl/ghGW8s)
- Mention of L/L Research
- Mention of the Law of One
- A simple message which encapsulates our spirit and material
- Mention of our web address: www.llresearch.org
However, feel free to exercise creative license.
To submit a design, simply send us two images: one for the front of the shirt and one for the back. If we choose your design, we will work more closely with you in determining what further formatting may be needed, if any. You can either send your image to contact@llresearch.org with the subject line “T-Shirt Design Submission” or, preferably, post it to this thread, allowing community members to offer thoughts and feedback.
We will be closing the window for submissions on October 31st, 2013. Thank you in advance! We look forward to the energizing of those distortions towards creativity

EDIT: i'm going to make a new design so don't count this 1. bc i've realized it's not something ppl will want to wear. bc when i tell ppl that i think "there is no disharmony" & that "all is complete" they think i'm crazy & it never ends well. it typically results in me having to hear them list a bunch of current tragedies going on...u really would have to be crazy to walk around w/ a shirt that says that these days. not to mention the laughing buddha on the front would've put his head in a bad spot (for females) lol
we can only enter 1 in the competition, rite?

Really we're looking for something that people will want to wear, so I suppose I'd say design. We would like the fact that it's a L/L t-shirt to be somewhat obvious as we want people to buy these in support of L/L Research, to feel like part of the community when they wear it. Somehow integrating some aspect of the LOO into that would be a big plus.

It gets the job done in branding L/L Research and incorporating a message of unity, but we're looking for something a bit more interesting.

I really like alchemikey's design, but I think it would be better if the font was consistently sized and not enlarged in the center. With the cloth on a person already subject to folds from hanging, I think the warping of the words would make it more difficult and effortful to read.
But I love that quote, so it's definitely my favorite thus far!

the 'red hue' was totally accidental; and due to an error message because it didn't like the size of the uploaded image. But it added some color, so I left it in. I'm sure it could be transmuted to something less 'bloody'; say a green or a soothing blue.
anyway, it tickled my fancy. I might even conjure this design up for Homecoming next year

Better late than never, right? Here are a few I threw up together as initial concept designs. There are various styles here dependent upon theme and what may be considered economical to reproduce. I have intentionally left out the back as I believe it should be minimal with only the L/L 'Don Quixote' Logo present at the top just underneath the neck, with the focal point and primary message being conveyed at the front.
