Eagles Sue Concert Footage Archivist Over Bootleg Performances

Any opinions? Is suing like this healthy assertion or should they have gone another route?

The Eagles are notoriously litigious, which is sad because they have some great music that they are terribly stingy about sharing. Seems to me they spend a lot of time chasing pennies when they could just tour and rake it in with much less effort. I also think it's a little extreme that they are attempting to seize someone's life work (the thousands of hours of archival footage that the man has filmed) because someone borrowed yours for a minute. Ah, well, the addictive energy of money is hard to resist.

    I agree with Jade.

I had a publisher steal one of my proposals and use it, for which I was not compensated. I tried to resolve it even with the president of the co., but they didn't want to take responsibility. I was advised to sue. I did not. The main reason was because I would have been pouring energy into something negative and in the past. I wanted to look to the future and what I could create, not tear down; and I wanted to move forward, not backwards or stay stuck in the energy of the law suit.

My sister is in a large law suit with a huge company because of loss of business. It is legitimate. But it has already been 2 years and will be years more. It seems to me one's energy can be put to better use, and that forgiveness could come into the equation.

In the case of the Eagles, how much money do they need? Perhaps it's the principle, but I like the principle of forgiveness better.

I like the ho'oponopono prayer for resolving conflict:

    I love you
    I'm sorry
    Please forgive me
    Thank you

It's based on the connectedness of all things (people), so whatever someone else has done or is doing, is also in you. So you say it to the person/entity you have issue with.

As a musician, I think this is incredibly petty.
