    Thread: Grounding energy

There are days, like these, where I feel so much energy that it's nearly driving me insane, I barely sleep because my limbs seem to move involuntary and there's this constant electric pulse present, especially in my hands and feet. The noise (high pitch) is absolutely deafening. I run and jump around a lot, while visualizing releasing the energy through my feet into the earth - also as an attempt to remain connected to my body, though at times it feels like a spacesuit that's way too tight.

I have no idea how to ground these energies and was wondering if anyone has any tips? (Meditation is not an option)

Have you tried ground, centering and shielding?

    Why?

If you're this imbalanced during a full moon(which we are far from right now), it's even less fun..
Anyway, get a piece of black tourmaline and hold it/keep it in a pocket. Serves well during sleep as well if you keep it under a thin mattress or in a pillowcase(the point is to keep it close).

Free Spirit; I'm not exactly sure what you mean? Though I don't feel as if I need shielding of any kind.

Aureus; Because on days like these I can't possibly sit still, don't get me wrong, it feels amazing. It's just a bit much, so to speak. For me it takes quite a bit of effort not to meditate and totally forget the physicality of this experience. Thanks for the tip!

βαθμιαίος; I'll take a look, thanks!

You can meditate if you put time into it. It's like exercise, don't expect to see results right away. If you sit in silence with eyes closed for 45 minutes everyday for two weeks you'll probably start entering a deeper state.

Just close the eyes and relax. Try not to follow up on any thought you have, but if you do, don't fret, just observe. Become the observer. Even if you're not relaxed, and you continue to follow up on thoughts, that's ok, once you keep doing that your brain will get all of the surface thoughts out after several days and I think you'll enter a deeper state.

You'll know that you're getting close once you start to feel knots of tension release or you feel strong electrical or flowing warm/cold sensations over your body.

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_(electricity)

Grounding can be translated in psychological ways and in terms of one's connection to the "Earth Self", however I have always fundamentally considered it in purely electrical terms.

Grounding is really about creating a circuit or circulation of the electrical current of the self with the electrical current with the Earth, or it can actually be done with pretty much anything, the point is to create a balance of potentials so the electrical charges in the body can be stabilized. It is the same reason we use a ground on an electrical plug, so any charge forms a complete circuit with the ground (or whatever is being grounded to) so rather than travel in to our bodies and becoming caught, therefore electrocuting us by increasing the electrical charge in our body beyond its threshold (note there are people who can hold huge electrical charges), the energy continues to travel its circuit and be equalized.

So, the most basic of grounding techniques I know is to focus on the bottoms of the feet and the raw connection with the ground you are standing on. This is best done with bare feet on earthen ground or grass as the rubber in the soles of most shoes can actually inhibit grounding for those who don't know how to work around that. One way to do this is to also include the awareness of the energy in the body and extend that awareness downwards in to the earth, "feel in to the Earth" until your electrical field and the electrical field of the Earth are forming one circuit. While doing this, one can also actually ground upwards to the sun or sky, and using the two together is similar to a technique called the Unity Breath.

    http://www.spiritofmaat.com/archive/jun1/unity.htm

Another technique is to actually breath the energy out, clenching the abdomen slightly and with each outbreath visualize excess energy being pushed out with the breath.

You could say grounding is actually one of my specialties aha

If you really have an excess of energy, you can also do a spontaneous qi gong kind of technique where you basically stand with feet shoulder length and literally shake out all the energy by shaking your limbs, your body, flicking your fingers and tensing the whole body and more or less doing what you can do discharge the excess energy. It is good to do a space clearing like a smudging regularly if you are using this technique though. Or, you can visualize all the energy you are letting off flowing off and downwards in to the earth.

Feet against the floor works just fine. You do however bring up a very important point: Grounding occurs many times more efficiently when your soles are pressed against a surface.

In terms of meditation techniques, I find it really boring just to sit in silence. If anyone wishes, I can provide my own technique..

Yes, the floor works just fine too aha Although I do believe there is an added benefit to direct connection with the Earth because of the continuity of the ground downwards, whereas a floor of a house or building is connected to all sorts of other things and materials. Plus, there is the extra bonus of enjoyment and appreciation of the outdoors! Aha

    I recomend:

Vitamin D3 every other day with breakfeast.

a full spectrum Vitamin E every other day at lunch

a full spectrum vitamin K with lunch.

    chelated magnesium 3h-4h Before bed

    chelated Calsium 1h Before bed.

and 3g (3\4 teaspoon) glycine 30min Before bed.

The timing in the evening is not critical but helps for optimal results.

Natural hypnosis has been a wonderful tool in remembering my Tranquility. Free to download the Tranquility version =)

Do you mean "energy" in the physical sense like an adrenaline rush or in a metaphysical sense like "I feel the energy"? Both?
It might be worth looking into your diet for either one and if you can find the patience to sit still the Bhu mudra helps downward flow of energy if it's the more ethereal kind lol (mudras don't have to be used during meditation but can induce the right mindset for such an activity if one was feeling unable beforehand).

What I personally (occasionally) do is focus (visualize?) on a line that would go straight through me vertically down to the center of the earth, like that's the "anchor" point for the chains that connect at my feet I dunno it just works for me lol, that's for calming if that is what you are going for.

    It just dawned on me that it could be kundalini energy, especially after having just read these following symptoms;

Quote:What are some of the symptoms of disruptive kundalini? Disruptive kundalini causes an array of symptoms, which may include: insomnia or waking in the night; panic attacks; involuntary movements like shaking, twitching, arm waving, head tipping back, rocking or bouncing; enhanced perception such as in psychic phenomena; general bodily discomfort; the feeling that if you relax when the energy comes, it will get bigger and bigger and overwhelm you; inability to concentrate. For most people kundalini arousal is at times pleasurable, sometimes intensely so, though it is at other times disruptive.

use your hands and intent, give it to where it is needed and that should end with ground if it is intolerable 'spiritual' energy

I remember when I used to try raising my vibration. I got to a point where I was unable to ground. Even asking Ra for help in grounding was only temporary, and I ended up with a schizophrenic episode.
