Patterns in the archetypes

Most of you are aware of the pattern of the number 2. Where there are two of an object, one is yang (male) the other is yin (female).

Many are aware of the patter of the number 3. The pattern is visible in a careful analysis:

"The Matrix of the Body may be seen to be a reflection in opposites of the mind; that is, unrestricted motion. The Potentiator of the Body then is that which, being informed, regulates activity.

The Matrix of the Spirit is difficult to characterize since the nature of spirit is less motile. The energies and movements of the spirit are, by far, the most profound, yet, having more close association with time/space, do not have the characteristics of dynamic motion. Thusly one may see the Matrix as the deepest darkness and the Potentiator of Spirit as the most sudden awakening, illuminating, and generative influence."


Body is a creature of the mind, a reflection in opposites. Spirit is accessible when these two opposites, body and mind are in a balanced unity. The pattern is Yang, Yin, Center.

The same pattern is visible in numerous other settings, such as the classical dialetic of Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis.

Now, on every group of 7 archetypes, there are Three pairs of archetypes, equaling six.

Because there are three pairs, these must follow the character of three, that of on pair being Yin, another Yang, and the third a Balance, relatively more fixed.

It is my supposition that the Balance pair is The Matrix and potentiator I have two reasons for this belief:

The Significators of Mind, Body, and Spirit complexes are complex in and of themselves, and the archetypes of Catalyst, Experience, Transformation, and the Great Way are most fruitfully viewed as independent complexes which have their own melodies with which they may inform the mind of its nature.

Includes Catalyst and Experience, Transformation and Great Way, but not Matrix and Potentiator.

Second:

Ra: I am Ra. The fewest are the two systems of five which are completing the cycles or densities of experience.


You must grasp the idea that the archetypes were not developed at once but step by step, and not in order as you know the order at this space/time but in various orders. Therefore, the two systems of fives were using two separate ways of viewing the archetypical nature of all experience. Each, of course, used the Matrix, the Potentiator, and the Significator for this is the harvest with which our creation began.

One way or system of experimentation had added to these the Catalyst and the Experience. Another system if you will, had added Catalyst and Transformation. In one case the methods whereby experience was processed was further aided but the fruits of experience less aided. In the second case the opposite may be seen to be the case.

We know that Matrix and Potentiator, (Along with Significator) were the very first archetypes that a logos used, while two separate logos each added Catalyst/Experience, and Transformation/Great Way.

We also know that the operation of these two pairs is opposite. One works on furthering experience, while the other furthers the fruits of experience.

The question is, which of these pairs is Yin, and which is Yang?

It is my hypothesis that in the Mind, the Catalyst/Experience pair is Yang, because it actively produces experiences, while Transformation/Great Way are a processing of that experience, a more Yin attribute.

I also believe in Body, the opposite would be the case, simply following the pattern of the pairs themselves (such as Matrix and Potentiator) that switch polarity when moving from mind to body.

regards the pairings, the Matrix/Potentiator are one, as you mentioned, along with the Catalyst/Experience and then the Transformation/Great Way.    But if you look at the thread I linked to, each of these individual cards has it's own yin/yang bias, and there's no reason to assume that a pairing in itself would reflect an overall male/female principle.
