    The One on the Hill

    There stands a hill,
at the bottom of whose slope is a city.
    In that city,
    was born I.

    As an uneventful childhood passed,
I would espy, at the top of the hill,
against the silhouette of darkness, a lonely mysterious figure.
Most of the denizens of the city,
did not seem to mind the persistent gaze of the lonely one on the hilltop.

    Days flew, years passed.
    I grew.
    As circumstances changed,
    life got unbearable.

I found constant strife all around.
    Individuals against individuals,
one set of irrevocable interests pitted against another.
Families becoming hunting grounds for abusers,
communities struggling in pain, conflict and fathomless alienation.

In the haze of automatic haste,
once in a while, I would gaze,
to the top of the hill, and there,
the mysterious one with the constant gaze.

One day, turmoil wracked the city.
Its people had turned on one another for some reason.
My mind and body, were affected in the violent rhapsody.
    There I lay,
    broken, bleeding and helpless.

I was beaten and I had beat.
I was broken and I had broke.
I was abused and I had abused.
This was not a place for the lone sage.

Lying there helpless and guilt-ridden on the ground,
my breath raising the dust under my nose,
    I tilted my neck upward.
There, on the top of the hill,
    the lonely mysterious figure.

But this time, I caught the gaze of the one on the hill,
    with my own piercing eyes.
The one on the hill remained unmoved.
In the meeting of the gazes through the haze of the burning city,
was exchanged the wisdom of futility and duty.

I moved away my gaze and waited for help to arrive.
But I knew deep within me: the gaze of the one on the hilltop,
follows inexorably its own ways of persistent inquiry.

    Heart
    i want people
    to be passionately pursuing

making a difference in this world

by both their being and their doing

    i want people

    to boycott these corporations

that are full of selfish interests

    and keen on planetary degradation

    i want people

to rise up like a tidal wave

    against the exploitation of water

this precious element we must save

    i want people

to stand tall like the trees

to turn their lawns into gardens

and to plant flowers for the bees

    i want people

    to really come alive

    to be burning deep inside

to not just survive but truly thrive

    i want people

to be dancing in the streets

belting out songs from their hearts

on every corner drum circle beats

    i want people

to slow down the rat race

to get back in tune with nature

and to not leave a single trace

    i want people

to stop all the childish fighting

to gain a broader point of view

where the global heart is seen igniting

your welcome...it feels good to share such things Smile

    don't you find it bizarre
that we came from the dust of a star

    exploding and coalescing into forms
pleasure of rose petals.,.pain of thorns

so let's stop pretending that we're not
both the fear of cold and the love of hot

in this time of initiation and transition
it's very important to honor each decision

we are putting ourselves to the test
a portal is opening for a new quest

shadows are surfacing from the deep
follow that dream...take the giant leap

the wait is over and it's time to get serious
about ways to heal gaia...let us all get curious

we have taken enough...she's at the end of her tether
i believe humans can fly...but only when working together

    One Again
    [To Carla In Love/Light Memory]

    Our journey's end draws near;
We approach its' “dead-end”, free of fear.

    The Light brightens in the West;
With ascending step, we breach its' elusive crest.

    Shimmering luster, beams through yond' door;
Revealing The One we have witnessed countless times before.

    Vision clear comes to us now, as perseverance grants reward;
Labors rendered, rest now sings in one-heart accord.

    Sister – Servant, Mother – Mentor, Faith-heart – Friend;
Speaker of Truth, Arrow of Light, Loving to the end.

    What tribute we may offer now, render we all in heart-felt gratitude;
And now, as always, loves' distortion to the “N[sup]th[/sup]” degree in magnitude.

    Oh Great ONE, one indulgence grant us, is our plea;
Let one lonely tear fall, in hope to set one more captive free.

    Thus, in “merry” parting, already missed, as if too soon;
Yet we too soon shall follow, be it Full … or New Moon.

    So still be our “Light” held high, to us guide;
As yet Wanderer-pilgrim we for a season here/now abide.

    A Parable of Immortality

I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs
like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
    "There she goes!"

    Gone where?

Gone from my sight... that is all.

She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
    to the place of destination.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

    And just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
    ”There she goes!”
there are other eyes watching her coming...
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout...

    ”Here she comes!”

    ~ Henry Van Dyke

    Heart

    there is a collective brain
of which we are each a neuron

there is also a collective heart
humans ready to get their purrr on

keep on firing away those dreams

the freedom to think any thought

the pulse of love is strengthening
becoming the lovers we have sought

    through each connection we grow
as the vibration on earth gets higher

a thought of the sun...we are so loved
we are held in its bright warming fire

    engulfed in each stars radiance
we are literally in an ocean of light

the source is within and all around
available to be tapped for soul flight

    Heart

    what would you say qualifies
    a meditative mind?
do you need to sit in lotus
    to go within and find?

or can you keep your calm

    amongst the daily grind?

in the way you speak and act

can you remember to be kind?

and when you do get frazzled

    take a slow centering breath

let the stories reach "the end"

    welcome their timely death

notice how much lighter you feel

as you release that extra weight

the portal to presence is a heart open

as silence forever wipes clean the slate

    My tongue is a desert.
    Words blown about, desolate,
    uninhabited, feared.

    My eyes are an over-painted
    slick cliche, blinking
    across a rusted atrocity.

    My hands have aged from
    under-use, hesitant
    to reap a bounty forsaken.

    When my words were like
    clean water and seeds,
    making the ice fields glow;

    when my fingers drew fibers
    from your heart
    in golden strands, conjoining;

    I would have borne
    the agony of my senses
    to stitch our worlds together.

    The mud has swallowed
    my intentions, vomited
    a shell-shocked copy you

    court with more courtesy
    than the truth springing from
    my bones like crystal shards.

In a world of neon saturation,
    drowning in the freedom of
    anonymous slavery,
    I did not stop shining.

is there a story for me to tell?
is my truth but a ringing bell
    do i see
    you and me
    as one slaughtered entity
    dancing in eternity
    waking up in bed
    tangled, heaving, red
to the sound of a ringing bell?

is that who i want to be?

      Heart

    don't be so harsh
    so overly critical
    loathing upon what's past

    now holds no grudge
    it's overtly open
    embracing each die that's cast

    honor that freedom
    to choose and to feel
when we are off the mark

    aiming at moving targets
    with arrows of intention
this life we play in the dark

    good deeds brushed aside
    it's easier to find fault
but that only leaves one in prison

as we divide what is whole
    each judgments an assault
upon the inner christ that's risen

to the lofty realms of love
where self is known as other
    teary eyes of compassion gaze

    across the rainbow bridge
    connecting all time and space
guiding any earth child that strays

    I Am Darkness by Lighthead

(This poem is inspired by Charles Manson's I am a boxcar hobo statement.)

    I am the darkness
I am a dirty knife in the sink
    I am a rough edge
I am a stop sign in the middle of nowhere
I am a mosquito ready to pop
    I am a hoarder

    I am a burgundy jumpsuit
I am a comedian who is dying inside
    I am a broken television
I am a slick magazine cover
I am an old coffee table
    I am a dying trend

    I am work
    I am a biological necessity
I am a product that has no function
I am a four dollar painting
I am a book that has never been read
I am a principle that never gets discovered

    I am darkness
    I am the number five
    I am a bathroom floor
    I am a well-used bible
    I am the wires
I am a box in the middle of the living room

    I am a lab
    I am therapy
    I am the green man
    I am electricity
    I am Christmas
I am a series of waves

    I am a large head
    I have to be fed
    I am a cartoon
    I sometimes teach
I am dust in the circuits
I am a child on the ground

    I am a clicking sound
    I am the fall
    I am a son
    I am a delivery man
    I deal in insurance
    I am domino

    I Am Something by Minyatur

(This poem is inspired by Lighthead's I Am Darkness.)

    I am something
    I am well
    I am unwell

    I am something else
    I am unwell
    I am well

    I am something else
    I am confused
    I am something else
    I am confused and unwell
I believe I am not confused

    I am darkness
    I am unwell
    I am well
    I am unwell
    I am well

    I am darkness
    I am darkness
    I am confused

    I am Light
    I am darkness

    I am tired

    I am what I am
I am what I am not

    I am nothing

    I am something again

    I am the East
    I am the West
I am the Dragon at love-fest.

    I am the North
    I am the South
I am the Snake most melee mouthed.

    I am the Sun
    I am the Moon
I will be gone one day too soon.

    I am what's up
    I am what's down
I even spiral round and around.

    I am the All
    Yet ever so so small
While I look in a crazy mirror, becoming so tall.

    I am that I am
    Dreaming a song
Singing it sweet, singing it strong.

    Listen someone
    Hearing it prolong
Then You awaken, and its All gone.

    Then I discover
    I am not at all.

The bridges so carefully built and tended
    rickety all the same
    burning now

    the past is a stranger
    the future a friend unmet

every step is into a void
    the trackless path
    doubts whisper

    groping in the dark
    sensing the Light

    The unbound Smile:

    Being of the smiling mystery
sensing how vast life is outside of mental future history
Why do I smile? Whats behind it?
nothing, there is nothing that binds it
the unbound smile is always there
even in a frown or any other facial scare
like the sun it is always shining
regardless the weather, whatever clouds has put it in hiding
Sensing the sun behind the clouds
everything is touching, last night I sent the sun my regards
where do we end, where do we begin
    the primal spiral
    listen to the spiraling ring
    the carrier frequency of awakening
    lighten up it´s all OK
learning to live in winter as well as day

    Concrete

    Is this the end result?
Is it just done and that's it?
    Does it fall?
    Do we get a leg?
Or does a leg come up for us.
    Kissing the leg...
Does it fly up and down like some kind of bad 80s movie?
    Is there a stasis?
Is there a midpoint of existence?
    An intermission?
    Or a hypostasis?
    Not the best
    But certainly the worst.
    Not the worst
    but certainly the best.
    Is it caught?
    Does it fall?
    Is it on the ground?
    Or is it set.
A period of mentioning for sure.
    Is there blood?
    Do they want more?
How do they get past this?
    Is it more?
It's certainly about tradition, but nothing more.
Once we get past this "stage", then we'll know if there's something more.
    Is it on the ground?
It's certainly a conspiracy, so there's nothing more.
It's not in the clouds yet.
And it's not on a downward spiral.
    It's concrete?

    I´m touching you
    you touch me
    reality is together
    intimately
    Love is holding us together
so that we don't dissolve in to the nether
    space cant keep us apart
we are connected within our heart
    loving us
is all I want to do
    loving us
    is easy cause we´r beautiful
    as stories are told
    we will never grow old
    self is truthfully bold
    only when confused
    will we scold
    are your thoughts fresh
or have they started to mold
    the ever expanding universal smile
    has been here for awhile
but this is all word play
    patterns within the world play
    pattern harmony is the key
    in unlocking the layered gate
    enter land infinity

    What if?
    Such a beautiful question...
    What a wondrous expression...
    Ignites open curiosity...
Being intimate innocently with universal suggestion...
    Expanding spontaneous creativity...
exploring past the boundaries of known mystery...
    What if?

    Heart

love is the lowest common denominator
dividing into everything in equal measure
it is the ocean containing all the waves
    present in the pain...mundane...and pleasure

giving of its whole heart is its nature

asking for nothing in return...love shines

the presence of beingness seeking itself

seeing behind all eyes...reading between the lines

intimately embracing and embraced by what is
understanding this, is missed, with explanation
we reside in spacious spontaneous living sensation
    uniting together
    in prime meditation
    thank you
    you´r welcome
    Peace
    Love

    Heart
Relationships built upon the bedrock of blessings and praise
Cultivated with honor and respect as we walk the beauty ways
Pilgrims on parallel paths open to plentiful possibility

Supporting each other's gifts as a sacred responsibility

Authentically reciprocating love with honesty and transparency

The power held in each moment is the epitome of relevancy

Just doing it like the slogan for Nike has emphasized for years

Skipping towards our wildest dreams instead of running from our fears

    Heart
    Come out of your shell
    Come into your showing

    Come out of your shell

    Embody all that knowing

    Come out of your shell

    Come into your glowing

    Come out of your shell

    Life needs space for growing

    There's no need for hiding

    The world needs us shining

So much on earth is riding

    Upon this silver lining

Get rid of all that armor

Tend your heart like a farmer

Weed out the pain you harbor

Start fresh like when leaving the barber
