subtract what can be subtracted
awareness is what will be remaining
inseparable from this moment i am
always full with no waxing nor waning
there is an ever new freshness to life
that is what keeps it so exciting
eternally fascinated by what will come next
just like these words i am now writing
i have no idea where this poem is headed
it is steered by the whims of wonder
towards now is the general direction
beneath the naming i want to pull you under
presence is a constant that never falls away
our true identities are identical
every thought one has is an afterthought
can you see how your life is theatrical?
healing is built into everything
we are trying to escape
stop hiding...nor more running away
open the window...all curtains undrape
people will always confront you
with your own rejected waves
freedom comes with acceptance
where denial only enslaves
be on the lookout for your shadow
through projection it's most easily seen
the process of daily forgiveness
keeps the underlying screen clean
nobody can live up to an image
keep your expectations at bay
when temptation comes to greet you
bless and wish it well on its way
who you are cannot be practiced
it's more automatic than this breath
what has no beginning can have no end
transcending the cycles of birth and death
consciousness is the ultimate mystery
who can fathom how it all came to be?
all we ever know is this precious presence
the clear light of now is forever free
