I'd like to add the 2nd distortion = love/Logos (word/law) is also the law that determines how light is to behave.
It comes about from the 1st distortion as an idea, that is followed through the 2nd, and provided realization by the 3rd.
Regarding jivatman's interpretation of exp(), i, and pi, I'd also like to mention that if you study Geometric/Clifford algebras, you will realize that our 3-dimensional view of the photon (and other matter) works by assuming vectors and pseudovectors (imaginary number * direction), such that when multiplication by a unit vector (length that could sit on a circle) occurs, it causes the particle's new multi-vector to eventually wrap around to the start (making the circular wave phenomena that you speak of).
Basically, in summary, take what you say, put it in 3 dimensions and that's pretty much exactly how physics posits the movement of light.
