The conformation to expectations is what Ra talks about with "roles" which ultimately creates an unnecessary, tremendous complexity. Roles are like a layer or barrier to deeper awareness due to the thought processes being occupied with this or that convention. People needlessly expend energy, engage in needless coping behavior, needlessly become distracted, use such a complex system for exploitation, and like virus of ideas teach, learn and demand others conform properly.

The side effects are numerous, such as: lack of ethical consideration, an attitude where intrinsic value is not sought when making decisions involving worth, a "dog-eat-dog" society, and general disharmony with nature.
