Small Steps of Denial

I come from a culture where one is taught never to flaunt one's wealth, not to show one's intelligence, and not to stand out in a crowd.

Reasons are: To avoid being kidnapped or robbed; Nobody likes a show-off; A target for scam artists; There is safety in numbers.

Because of this, many do not show their potential, will just follow the crowd, will not attempt anything extra-ordinary.

I too followed this for a while until I realised that "I am what I think".
