I would add that the catalyst in this card may also be unrelated to other people. Whether it is one's appearance, heredity, wealth, or intelligence, for example, how you consciously react and process these characteristics is also part of this archetype. As is how you process neutral events (accidents, storms, earthquakes, etc.). The STO person accepts these (and begins possibly to see a purpose to them) while the STS person will try to control/prevent them and feel victimized by them. I usually ascribe this kind of non-personal processing of catalyst to the Strength card (#11) right below the Emperor, but the two overlap in my mind a bit.
