Peregrine, old boy-- through my spies I have been able to obtain a brief snippet of hitherto-unseen footage showing certain singular activities transpiring chez Carla's preliminary to Session 18.  I caution you to gird yourself, for what is depicted is shocking indeed.

[This fantastic video has gone down the memory hole, alas. It showed a brief black-and-white ca. early-1950's Mouseketeers Show scene, with the squeakily-clean-cut kids (with Annette Funicello intended as "Carla") wearing Mickey Mouse hats, majestically group-dancing whilst perfectly synched to the Beatles' "I Am The Walrus" ("I am he as you are he as you are me / And we are all together / See how they run like pigs from a gun see how they fly / I'm crying..."). A truly glorious and surreal spectacle. I'll have to fall back on the following pale-by-comparison Twiggy vid to hint at the vibe of just what caliber of abyssal depravity and drug-fuelled debauchery was to be found depicted in the now-lost vid. BTW, the Twiggy needs to be updated to, say, Taylor Swift:]

 
One can only surmise that Carla's impeccability as a Seeker allowed her to pass through this ordeal unscathed.  Even Wanderers-- whilst embodied here-- are only human.

Alas, all the truly revelatory stills from this extravaganza seem to have been scrubbed from the internetz by Agents Unknown; you'll just have to get hold of the film itself to see, for instance, her character Ruthie's titillatingly clever hands-free method of answering a phone.)
