eXistenZ - what is real?

when i saw this movie years ago it made a big impression on me. i remember it came out at the same time as The Matrix and The Matrix stole all the attention. i was really annoyed by that. eXistenZ is a more intimate and less clinical take on virtual reality and what reality really is. it's also beautiful and visceral like all or most Cronenberg movies. but it made me realize nothing can be proven as more real than something else. everything and nothing is real. what is reality but a playground?

also JJL is always a treat to look at.
