The desire of ceasing stems from the physical mind, the ego. It can only be that way since the ego finds things it doesn't enjoy (which is capable of creating hell when tormented/distorted to considerable means). When the ego is relaxed, as such, the moment becomes the gift (conversely, heaven can be found).
The only truth you can vouch for is that you exist. How we each consider our existence, and what we do with it, is the gift of free will, and the purpose of the veil. We're not meant to know for sure if there is a OIC. Faith is the mechanic in which we choose. Faith in positive/integrative/us, or faith in negative/segregative/them.
The OIC is not separate from you. It took me a while to come to terms with that when reading the Ra Material. I'd still externalise it. It IS you and you are it. Your experience and choices are adding to the totality of our experience. I AM is the name of God, distortions and all.
