I think you are very right, because that also has to do with the Transformation of the Mind and courting the maiden, it being the 6th card so having its energies within the indigo realm. When you open the indigo ray, you are so in love with all of Creation that you only desire to facilitate its peace and happiness, and satiety.

I think the Great Way would then be more indicative of when "service to others becomes automatic" - as the sphinxes pull the chariot without anything harnessing them to it. When you're in love, nothing that the maiden desires of you is costing you any real effort, because the only thing you really desire is please her.
