Well in this case growing up could mean to seek to balance your apparent distortions in regards to this matter, find the opposite emotions of what you felt for that individual.

A lot of people seem to think this process is to give it to the other and lose something yourself. When in fact the other gains nothing from it, except perhaps to not get unpleasant vibes from an other self. You get to remove chains from upon yourself that restrain your potential and disturb your inner balance and peacefulness you could have.

I am not entirely sure what your thread was seeking. This is a LOO forum and as such it could be expected that fellow members are much more likely to find the idea of separation and private property petty, especially when no harm whatsoever was done to yourself.
