I don't think I can answer that. I never really was a raver. I liked the music but hung with the metal crowd myself. It is certainly a transcendental experience, you massively created and tapped into a collective consciousness. The problem is that people bring their baggage to those kinds of events. Apart from the good things you must have seen bad things happen too.
I guess it's an objective statement to say that it was risky and tremendously satisfying to those involved.
