I like Netflix; I use that for my emotional news source
but in terms of actual current events, I used to visit a lot of conspiracy oriented sites, but that was so many years ago.
because of my job (related to mainstream media), I get exposed to so much of the conventional view, that I just glaze over, really, when it comes to news reporting. There's so much 'sensation'; and then the fuller details come out days, weeks, months, or years later, that you realise that it's just emotional button pushing. That's not conspiracy-talk; it's more how the business operates, which is to get (and hold) attention.
But for more 'objective' views; I'd go with hounsic. The Guardian has always been very solid. And in terms of allowing the 'people to speak' and to have 'diversity', scanning the comments of reddit (above) is actually quite democractic, and you can find that one stray comment can reveal a vein of understanding and truth.
