The nature of the energy centers.

Something that makes me scratch my head regarding energy centers is how a red ray blocage can block the upward flow of energy to the higher chakras but never actually restrict someone from actually connecting with higher rays. How should we describe blocages then? Is it only a restriction to freedom of expression of the rays? Or maybe just restriction of equilibrium between each of them?

In my humble understanding the energy from the South Pole needs the higher centers in order to be transmuted into higher work, while the energy from the North Pole needs unblocked lower centers for it to become manifested in the physical. For example someone can be philosophical but can't actually function in society, or someone has a lot of personal power but it's wasted on hedonistic pursuits.
