Discernment is hard. I would encourage everyone to have compassion for both those who only believe in the mainstream media's / US government's official stance on all things, and for those who may have trouble discerning between true 'conspiracies' (aka NSA mass surv. before it was whistleblown) and false conspiracies, because there surely are plenty of both. We live in a world where truth and fiction are intermixed, and often served on agenda to us by those in power. 

Though I think the posts in thread weren't made with the intention to hurt anyone, if we took an unveiled view of our reality, I would bet good money that all of us currently believe in something completely that is false - whether it's a mainstream perspective on something or a false conspiracy - so while we might think it's funny someone fell for the false earth conspiracy, perhaps humility and understanding could be useful in this area.
