Al that is fine with me.. I have a big thing with long hair.
I remember laughing the first time I read that Ra quote, anything that promotes the existence of long hair is a good thing. Many religious scriptures carry prohibitions against cutting the hair in any way including Christianity.
I don't know what it's like to have short hair so I cannot comment on the difference, and I won't experiment But I did notice the weird effect that somehow washing my hair helps alleviate flues, pains, moods it just always makes me feel better. I thought I was just being weird.
Also a bit more nefarious but when you enter monasteries, or get drafted into the army, basically any place where they see personal opinions as a bad thing the first thing to go is the hair.
