When the Annunaki, Elohim, gods, arrived and started playing genetic gods to use self aware beings as slaves, the "gave" us the "right" to 1/7th of our life not dying in service to them. Weren't they benevolent?

There are many passages that were written to re-establish our own slavery for ourselves, this is one of many. In order to keep the dark in power we must volunteer, manipulations like this is but one way they do it.

The stillness, rest, coexists with the creation and movement.

Work, rest, work, rest, a never-ending dance of infinite intelligence and its creation.

It might also be a gross simplification of the "time" when Creator turned everything over to Creation, to the Logos, Sub-Logos, us, "he rested."

And I've always questioned the whole "day" thing. If Genesis was actually dictated by God, would a "day" to an infinite being be my day? I don't think so. Not even close, perception is reality, I can't perceive what a "day" would be in infinity. My best earthly guess? Billions and billions of years
