Thanks for the thoughts agua!! I was confused at what a "spiritual therapist" would even look like so my response is likely a little confused...
I think the general idea in which i was speaking of pertains to the idea that i dont believe it's particularly fruitful for an individual to be engaging in "heavy" spiritual practices such as overly-intensive meditation, or perhaps something like kundalini practices, without having proper groundwork. thats mostly what I was getting at with the "foundational" comment. it seems like I inappropriately applied this understanding to the discussion at hand without thinking a little bit (oopsie)
with that being said, i am simply speaking from my own experience. i do believe that if an individual isn't actively engaging in the physical, or mental, and dives straight into meditating for 2-3 hours a day (which was my case) without tending to their physical and mental health, it will ultimately make things a tad more difficult. but hey, that was a part of my path and im sure others have similar turns as well. i don't look at it as a mistake, or the "wrong" way.... just wanting to encourage some balance I suppose
I do hear what youre saying and you have given me something to think about though, so thanks for that
