I don't have the quote to show to you, but I remember Ra saying that people set their path for each incarnation before hand. Some people use disease a reset button in case they travel too far from their pre-chosen path. Others self impose disease as a means of catalyst to learn how to do "work" in a certain manner that they may not have experienced if physically healthy. So cancer or other ills are not strictly developed from anger or other unbalanced catalysts, although this can bring them about as well.
