Gribbons, I understand what you're experiencing! I was brought up Catholic, and shed the Catholic brainwashing for fundamentalist, born-again Christian, bible-based brainwashing.
That is what it was. The extreme fundamentalist version of Christianity operates on FEAR. That is the clue!
It took a whole decade for me to let go of the fear, after 23 years as a Christian.
The websites you posted are classic examples of the more rigid, fundamentalist versions of Christianity.
They offer a classic picture of the STS model: Fill people with fear, and control them. Tell them that if they venture out on their own and actually think for themselves, they will be in grave danger.
Doesn't that sound like a cult? Those websites are saying anything 'New Age' is a cult, and yet they are the ones threatening with fear of 'hell' if anyone challenges of questions their bible-based beliefs.
See? They say to stay limited to the Bible. But why? Think about it. Is not the Bible a book written by men, thousands of years ago? But we have been conditioned to believe it is the infallible 'word of God' or ELSE!
WHO told us we must believe that way?
More MEN.
My suggestion is to give yourself some time to let your head clear. Weed can open doorways in your mind, and both positive and negative energies can surface. The fears were triggered by intoxication, but now that they have surfaced, what better time to confront them and clear them?
I had those fears too, until I finally realized where they were coming from: from the religious programming I had been subjected to.
We are here for you. Many of us have been thru what you are going thru, and we are happy to help in any way we can. No one on Bring4th will tell you what to believe. In fact, if you choose to accept the Bible, we will respect that! But I would encourage you to seek inward, rather than reacting in fear.
Fear is never a good reason to make any decisions, unless you're being chased by a tiger.
