Thanks so much for the warm welcomes ....
I've been reluctant to post about this directly because I'm super sensitive about being seen as proselytizing, however ... since two people have mentioned it, I thought I would go ahead and offer this:
There ARE avatars on this planet, and some make themselves very available to all who wish to be in their presence. They're just not in the type of package, perhaps, that we would automatically choose or expect. My Teacher that I mentioned above, Amma (some know her as 'the Hugging Saint'), is the only True avatar on the planet presently that I know personally and can bear witness to (I know there are others, just haven't put the time to researching who -- it's a tricky business finding the genuine article!).
Just being in Her presence is transformative, but the more I learn about Her life, how selflessly She spends each moment of Her life, is beyond inspiring. She was born 'awake' and is tapped into source, without a doubt. She eats very little and rests maybe one or two hours a day, the balance of Her time is spent tirelessly about the business of clothing, feeding, sheltering, doctoring and otherwise bringing compassionate comfort to many thousands of people around the world. She's the ultimate Mother, demanding nothing of us, only wanting to give her Self in compassionate service. And with that attitude, teaches us how to give selflessly as well. Ours is not so much an intellectual connection (that's what I get from Ra), but a more experiential, constant guidance to where we both want me to go (4D), sort of relationship.
What I loved in reading the Ra Material is that they advocate the same path of Selfless Service that Amma teaches and models for us. One of her devotees once asked Amma, "You work constantly -- don't you ever get tired?" Amma replied, "Where there's Love, there is no effort."
Like I say, I'm sure there are others, I just happen to be connected deeply with Amma and am not really inclined to look further.
So, all that being said, we don't have to just be connected to the Ascended Masters through channeling or meditation, etc. They are also in body on the planet (thank goodness!) You can learn more about Amma at Amma.org, or Her many humanitarian activities at EmbracingTheWorld.org.
