As for intervention from elsewhere, it probably happens. But how can intervention change the status if humans keep doing the same things and operating from the same paradigms?
Frankly, I have to keep these things at bay while I work to make any difference I can. I cannot, for example, volunteer to help clean up an oil spill, as much as I would like to, because I would want to die and leave the planet while seeing the animals suffering. So I do the things I can do now, and make plans for organizations and efforts to change the inequality. Every human should have basic needs met, and all life should be free to be.
My advice is to focus on what you can DO to elevate the world. Action makes me feel less hopeless in the face of so much needless suffering.
