This is something I've been thinking about lately. Here is my take:
Finding a group of people to agree on the application of the archetypal mind is difficult. Every religion has been corrupted by widening the small group understanding to a larger number of people. I can totally understand the membership only societies that form. The more I come to understand the Mind, the more I see that it is durn near futile to try to bring a wide amount of persons to the understanding. So, why wouldn't I, after seeing failed attempt after failed attempt, try to create a smaller group than can utilize the understanding of the Mind and apply it? You wouldn't be directly keeping others in the dark, but you would be keeping your own house in order.
