A high price to one may simply be a new state to another, my friend. Of course, I'm not exactly staring in to the sun at high noon every day, simply saying that I am able to do so if I choose and that it has at times helped me to feel empowered. I am not really going through my youth with the idea of preserving my state in old age, I expect what shall come of my old age shall be what I am intending to work with. Should blindness take me then I will see it as a new gift of state and another lesson by which I can experience my reality. Interestingly, I was born blind, so it would probably be more of a return to a natural state! 
Harm is in your perception, you are not harmed when you accept your state. Pain is the result of resistance and nonacceptance. I think it's more harmful to worry about whether or not you are being harmed!
Also @Monica - Where do you live? In theory I should be able to do it by a reverse intention of manifestation, so with your location I can certainly see what I can accomplish.
