My experience of empathy is annoying in life, such as the workplace where you can't just walk away from someone projecting.

On the web it is nice for connecting to specific people though. It is also an alarm for me when there is nothing coming from the other end of the connection. When there is just a cold or empty feeling coming from the other person I assume they are a fake or hiding behind something. I have come across govt employees this way.
