Re Tim - Just saw this older thread when I was googling so thought I'd add my 2 cents here. I hope your friend is doing better. I have a relative with Ramsay Hunt and usually it's misdisagnosed at the beginning - and the quicker the treatment the less residual side effects (so they say but it took years to diagnose my relative so we can't attest to that). There is a really good site for Ramsay Hunt - so even if that's not what he has been diagnosed with right now, it would be a good read so he can rule it out. http://www.ramsayhunt.org/index.shtml was created by someone with RHS and has a lot of great info.

I'm happy to send Reiki but I'd just want to be sure he knows and agrees first (any info to help focus it toward him would be great!) Hopefully he is ok but if if is BP or RHS then he will need some continued support. There are diaries on that website that are very good - you might think that the ones for longterm RHS are a bit depressing; however they show perserverence and if in fact it is RHS, I can say with much certainty that my family member would have appreciated knowing what was in front of her.
