Hi Plenum,
We have a variety of measures in place to thwart the automated bots from taking over, so the french and russian posters you referred to had to manually create the user accounts in order to get by the custom registration questions.
I am trying really hard to ban the IPs where these posters are coming from. I figured it's only a matter of time before all of Russia and France are banned from Bring4th! Seriously, though, I noticed that as soon as Google started indexing the new "political" sub-forum, that a ton of international spam started arriving. It's entirely possible that automated programs are scouting for certain keywords, and our political forum invited a whole 'lotta attention.
Hopefully the measure I installed tonight will cause the number of fraudulent registrations to decrease.
