'Hyper-intuitive' is a mode where there intuition is used in an ungrounded manner (i.e. not backed up by experience) when relating information. That is, the person has never bothered to accept what the intuition is suggesting to them - hence the hand-waving, fanaticism, inflation, etc. I use that term because there is no real behavior schemata provided for different integrative approaches used as one polarizes, or progresses up the subdensities.

That is only necessarily true if survival needs are still being addressed. Remember intuition is just a faculty of awareness, regardless of balance. That 'gap' or 'lack' remains and expresses differently depending on balance/polarity. The latching does remain, however. After some individuation work, it just evolves, for example, to 'a way' with its own prejudices. After survival needs, and social integration, that higher, inner 'knowing' being fostered is still like a bubble shielding a person from themselves and others (which demands reconciliation) - it does create that 'mean green vMeme'. And so begins the inflation of what the 'heart' means and how that may be expressed, balanced, integrated, accepted, etc. After that, the 'bubble' becomes more transparent - honesty naturally becomes more available, and intersubjective communication may finally occur. After that, then indigo-ray work may proceed.
Generally, anything 'new on the scene' must necessarily become part of that level of seeking, which is the same as balancing.
Each level or subdensity has its own integrative methods. The requirements for what entails 'balancing' change. For example, 'intuition' is employed differently from a survival-needs standpoint vs a metaphysical-integrative standpoint.
In the latter modality, the intuition always precedes integration and acceptance. When the worldview does not yet hold a place for that intuitive idea, it floats around and tends to become exaggerated or magnified in order to bring more and more attention to itself. It is simply higher-subdensity catalyst, where the ideas serve as (temporary) vehicles for further integration and transcendence. This catalyst is often shared as a subcultural meme (in the form of championing ideas). That is indeed an idea-attachment (because it's a disowned aspect of self), and it is indeed imbalance. It's just a higher-level imbalance, and may be perceived as more subtle or socially agreeable than other, lower forms of imbalance.

All of those terms are relative though. Typically in relation to some more imbalanced or more common condition.

In nearly all cases they have adopted the idea's of another, without using their own abilities to validate them.
Well we all (unconsciously) adopt other people's ideas. Even without emotional instability, there is imbalance. This imbalance is evidenced by idea attachment and exaggerations of importance: that which is overly numinous, doubts, pride, specific things that are considered sacred or vehicles for transcendence, notions of specific methods which must be used to connect with spirit or to center oneself, conflation of principles, the need to be 'right', comparison, heralding some events or some transient idea of change, etc.
I'm not saying this type of imbalance is necessarily symptomatic of a pathological condition. In fact, it is exploited by ET groups in order to 'wake you up'. Where 'vehicle of transcendence' is literally a 'vehicle' flying in the air - the metaphor becoming reality in order to impress a catalyst for transcendence seeking.
