To me, this perhaps was a war experience.
Yes, that's surely impressive and most of us here can only speculate what it entails. Personally, I'm more impressed by your mysterious friend experience, particularly the one it popped up in waking reality. Who would not like such an unconventional guardian. I've come over several similar reports, eg. by Klaus Joehle in his Living on Love books where he says he has been visited by what turned out to be his future self.

Wanted to find some information about our german ancestors, cause all documents were liquidated cause they said our family originated from some noble line, and comunists did not seem to feel positive about nobles. Now it is difficult to restore the details...If he bore a name of nobility it might be not too difficult to find out more. There is usually a signifier before the name like 'von' as in 'von Clausewitz' which he perhaps deleted from the family name. Google for 'von [your surname]' and see what comes up. Most will be probably in German. So if Google-translate doesn't give you comprehensible results you can PM me for support, if revealing your surname isn't an issue to you.

Well, only very roughly. The northernmost point of the river Danube is nearer to the point.
But I can see why you fancy Neuschwanstein, built for what is maybe the foremost fairy-tale king to live in the west
