2005.12.19 What is a time lateral?

lol. I still don't know what a time lateral is. Parallel earth? Parallel dimension? how do things cross over??

I just started reading this thread, so I re-read it before taking a stab at what the TL is.

I'm thinking that this planet Earth, by "design," is/was due to flip into 4D by now, or real soon (say 12/21/12). Higher-ups took pity at the messy polyglot of humans living on the planet, so they created a "standby Earth," the Time Lateral, that would be kind of static, holding off the flip, or at least delaying the changes leading up to it. They keep sending in more Wanderers in hopes of getting a high percentage of 3Ders off their butt and make their Choice. After making a Choice, I presume the 3Ders would hop back onto the main track Earth to finish their 3D lives until Harvest.

Perhaps they were optimistic, and many of those/us Wanderers are getting caught up in the crazy culture and regradng, instead of upgrading the natives.

Anyway, things are not going as nicely as expected (typical of this sphere, right?), and the Orion STSers are looking to have a decent-sized (to them) population of clueless that they can hold back on the lateral after it moves away from the now-flipped main track bed Earth. Those people (and their offspring, I presume) will remain on their own version of Earth and live amongst themselves believing that they are winning the battle against those unholy commies who tolerate gay, atheist, pro-choice etc. lifestyles.

Those hard-headed and basically 2D Clueless have, in a way, made a kind of Choice that is neither STO nor STS. They would firmly choose to continue living the craziness that was only supposed to be temporary catalysis to force 3Ders to Choose one of the two Paths.
