Yeah... I had to wait through a few bouts of solar activity while comparing that to personal catalyst and people close to me. And so far in my experience: yes, it really seems like there is a correlation.

Also, another interesting coincidence is that what I've been using to monitor earth's magnetic field is most inconveniently out of service, which you see by this image(which normally updates every few minutes):
