Yet not all people that smoke get cancer. This indicates to me that the prevalence of cancer in those that smoke most likely relates more to the shared personality characteristics that lead many of them to have that addictive behavior. I would say the same for those that drink heavily, or eat meat, are overweight, do not exercise, do not floss, etc. In my view, (and as I read the Law of One) it is not the behaviors that cause the diseases. Rather, the behavior is indicative of distortions of consciousness that tend to manifest in cancers and other diseases that modern science has associated with the behaviors. I think this is why the behaviors themselves are so difficult for the people to change, because the behavior is likely only an outward manifestation of an inner distortion that will one day lead to a life lesson. To change the behavior, they must change their consciousness, or change their programming, if you will.
Consider the reformed alcoholic that feels he must swear off alcohol forever. Every day is a battle against this overpowering all encompassing desire. What does he do? He suppresses it. He overcomes it. He ignores it. He controls it. In so doing he magnifies it. Is this acting in concert with the Law of One? Not that way I read Ra's words. Rather, if he has done sufficient work in personality to truly overcome the affliction, he would feel no interest in it, it would have no more power over him. He actually could take a drink, enjoy it, and move on. The same could be said for smokers, meat eaters, over eaters, etc.
By extension then, a properly balanced individual could, if he or she so chose, engage in any of those behaviors and suffer no ill effect. The same could be said for taking vaccines (and exposing oneself to toxins), or choosing not to (and exposing oneself to the virus). In reality, it has nothing to do with the vaccine or the virus. It has everything to do with the individual. Either choice could be right or wrong, depending upon the distortions of the individual.
So, by this logic, I must remain ambivalent toward anyone's personal lifestyle choices and I cannot recommend any preferred behavior, per se. I can recognize and even point out in their behaviors possible markers that may indicate future hard lessons that they may call upon themselves to learn, but I make no judgment based upon the observations.
That is not to say that I will freely choose to associate with people that make any or all of the lifestyle choices that modern science has identified as "harmful". There are many lifestyle behaviors of others that I choose not to be around, because I understand that people can tend, over time, to take on the distortions of those around them, in much the same way that a magnet works to magnetize a piece of iron. This is not to say that everyone will take on the distortions of those around them, but they do exert a force that must either be negated or embraced (note that the same can be said for behaviors that indicate "helpful" personality distortions.)
Or such is my distortion to believe.
