OK here goes:
I think feelings of guilt sometimes serve an important purpose. Only by reflecting on our feelings of guilt, can we determine if they are valid; ie. maybe there's something our Higher Self is trying to bring to our attention. The guilt might actually be telling us about something we can change, and the change is what brings balance.
Once the purpose of the guilt is acknowledged and accepted, then it can be forgiven and released.
