You're probably thinking of oxygenating, which isn't the same, though there is a chemical chain of events that I'm not technical enough to explain.
Basically, oxidation is like rust. It's what happens when you cut open an apple and it turns brown. That's oxidation. It causes aging and contributes to cancer.
Antioxidant is the opposite. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals, which are cells missing electrons. Antioxidants (found in abundance in fresh fruits and veggies) slow down the aging process and reduce the risk of cancer.
When I started drinking alkaline antioxidant water, my hair turned blonde again and wrinkles disappeared. (Among other things...) It's electrically charged so it neutralizes free radicals by donating electrons.
That's why it's not so much the source of water, as it is the state of the water. Old, bottled water that once came from a spring is still dead; whereas, water fresh from the spring is electrically charged. So unless we can get the water fresh from the mountain spring every day, we're not getting the water in its energized state.
