The gist of this is clear: why genetically engineer solutions when, simply, good food and water would do? Profit, ego, and control enter the picture when a solution so counter to common sense is being developed.
There is nothing wrong with technology, but we need integrity to balance it. Put another way, intellect with closed hearts is trouble.
