When you say that you "don't believe our ego has any control over it at all," I'm not sure I understand. "Ego" has a bad connotation, and when it becomes an arrogant superiority it deserves this negative feel. But low self esteem is a self destructive feel.
Loving everyone, includes loving yourself. All of yourself. That doesn't have anything to do with ego, that has to do with feel good. You cannot give what you do not have, and realizing our connection with each other, includes within yourself.
We have been taught, and I believe, that when confronted with an enemy, responding with anger and hate only strengthens that enemy. While loving and understanding and forgiving, will dissipate their power.
And I agree when you say "There are growing pains, there is no need to feel negatively about them and let them suck your energy." Yes, all the more reason to understand, and forgive, and love yourself.
You say it is "the feels that lead you to the thoughts." Yes, so, all the more reason to replace self criticism with self love. Love and Joy are "feels."
And also my friend, this is a chicken and egg thing. I've no idea, but I think that feels can lead to thoughts, and thoughts can lead to feels.
What really matters here is how Observer thinks and feels. So I feel/think that he should accept only what he feels is beneficial, and to ignore the rest. And that, Observer, involves trusting yourself.
Agreed.
