No way. Have you considered that it may also be the case that they are simply not capable of determining what is specifically distorted. Consider that if they actually knew the essential nature of the complexes, there would be absolutely no need to incarnate in the first place, there could be no service offered by 3D entities, there could be no 'experiments' with contacting 3D cultures.
