Well that aforementioned measly C class CME/solar flare mentioned by Spaced / zenmaster caused this:

A strong (Kp=7) geomagnetic storm sparked by a CME impact on Sept. 30th is subsiding now. At maximum, during the early hours of Oct. 1st, Northern Lights descended as far south in the United States as Michigan, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, Montana, Minnesota, Washington, Idaho, Illinois and South Dakota. Even California experienced some auroras. Tim Piya Trepetch caught a patch of sky turning purple over the Lassen Volcanic National Park:

Beautiful picture. The last 3 days all my chakras have been in overdrive. Intense love particularly. I was watching Superman the Movie last night and I could barely watch it because of the emotions it was stirring within me. The beauty and power overwhelmed my senses. I've seen it many times and thought it was okay, but I don't have the attention span to watch movies so usually get really bored half way through. Last night I was just amazed at how a Hollywood fabrication elicited these emotional responses now at this time. I was glued to my seat for the duration. Result of the CME?
