Just for fun, this thread is for posting music, art, books, movies etc. that are exhilarating!

Not just uplifting. Not just warm and fuzzy feel-good stuff.

But...exhilarating!

What I mean by that is: It reaches deep down into your psyche and pulls up your pain, and brings it to the surface, where it is healed, and then it takes that transformed energy and fills the heart until it's overflowing and then it goes up up up the higher chakras and out the head!

It builds and builds and builds in intensity until you think it can't go any higher, and then it goes higher still!

You can't stay in a bad mood when you experience such art...it has transformative properties.

And you feel yourself bubbling over with joy...and send it out into the world because you can't contain it.

EXHILARATION!

It's rare to find, but when you find it, you know it. Here are some examples:

Music (make sure you listen to these in HD)

Peter Gabriel - Signal to Noise

Peter Gabriel - Sky Blue

Peter Gabriel & The New Blood Orchestra - Apres Moi

Sonata Arctica - Don't Say A Word

Sonata Arctica - Misplaced

Pink Floyd - High Hopes

Shawn Phillips - Early Morning Hours

Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son

Tangerine Dream - Logos, Parts 1 and 2

AFI - Miseria Cantare

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven Live

The feeling of exhilaration for me happens when something resonates inside I need at the time. So it changes, but here are few that never fail to move me:

Pinl Floyd, Comfortably Numb
Gipsy Kings, Passion
Tool, Sober

Books:

I like too many books to name, but I love all of Carlos Castaneda's books, especially, Journey to Ixtlan, and The Power of Silence.

Art:

The Renaissance masters, some of Van Gogh's work, Salvadore Dali.

Movies:

Warriors of the Wind, Hayao Miyazaki

The Matrix, first one

I find this Eddie Vedder ukulele song absolutely exhilarating. Can imagine being there, sitting on a rock on the coast and watching a whale swim by.

[ It's the part where the BIG chorus and ALL the orchestra are
"powering" together !! ] REEEEEEALLY does it on me B,-)

The music of the film "1492" is quite impressive too !!

The film "Cocoon" is MY TOP NUMBER ONE FOR LIFE !!
and the "Close encounter of the 3rd kind" also !!
I AM !! EXHILARATED !! by the way the films end !!!

2001 and 2010 are a major trip too !!

i like some of the bands/singers you guys mentions, especially pink floyd. I decided to present you a different taste of music, hope you love it.

Omar Faruk and his Oud, born in Turkey:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti6s6D-_Ifw

This one is by Vangelis, a Greek composer. Very calm, I think its perfect:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EBYf3lYS...re=related

Another greek guy but different music, Giorgos Dalaras with an orchestra live:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2toCSLguazs

Now some up-beat electronics, dont hate me for this Wink

Shpongle - behind closed eyelids. One of my favorites, I find it absolutely amazing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNKS2ohqEAc

These two are by an Israeli group, Infected Mushroom:
(2004) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhTu_tU__Yg
(2007) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4YvkZeLrjs&hd=1

Enjoy

Interesting mix there. I'm not too familiar with Peter Gabriel but I have heard of Deep Forest and may have even heard some of their music years back.

Exhiliration for me is some freeky-deeky altered mental states from Source Vibrations or I-Doser.

First, something really exquisite:

Tina Turner Peace Mantra

Do you or do you not get GOOSEBUMPS??

and then...

OK some of you might not be able to handle the harsh vocals at the beginning, but if you can stick it out, WOW, it gets really profoundly delicous!

BORKNAGAR - Roots

Quote:The roots thrust – into oblivion
beyond the verge of space
The erodent roots, the evolving loops
thrusts, yet free roaming

There is a horizon folded
blinding leaves of the universe
Throughout the inner core
my quest, my lore
Where the seeds recoil and return
where the potency explodes to burn

Where the roots weave into the branches
where dimensions blend into infinity
Where the seeds recoil and return
where the potency explodes to burn
[From: http://www.elyrics.net]

There is a path running free
quintessential chemistry
Where the rivers recoil and return
fallen stars explode and burn

The branches reach into eternity
beyond the verge of stellar time
The evolving tree, the revolving spree
anchored in me means floating free
No time, no space can ever be
my hive, my home
I belong beyond the stellar dome

Blinding leaves of the universep

Mmmmm...yummy...intensely satisfying and uplifting...I keep playing it over and over and over...

haha awesome! I wanted to post this song in "inspirational songs" but exhilaration fits so much better...

Be sure to watch till the end! Paul McCartney and everyone else awesoming all over the place, in an orgastic crescendo of "na na na nananana"...
Hey Jude. Something so uplifting and joyful about this song.

Here's some of the songs that I find exhilarating, it's rare that I find someone who enjoys the same music as I do though Tongue Hopefully someone else can enjoy these.

Klaxons - Atlantis to Interzone

Mars - 3-E (this one appeals a bit to the darker parts of my personality)

Kate Bush - Sensual World (this song always makes me think of 4th density)

Cocteau Twins - Beatrix (I find this band's music so enchanting and beautiful)

New Order - Ecstasy (just what the title says Tongue)

Well that's enough for now, hope someone liked em Tongue

wanted to add one more Tongue

New Beginnings by Tracy Chapman. Very 4th density.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBM7jeheEMs

The whole world's broke and it ain't worth fixing
It's time to start all over, make a new beginning
There's too much pain, too much suffering
Let's resolve to start all over make a new beginning

Now don't get me wrong - I love life and living
But when you wake up and look around at everything that's going down -
All wrong
You see we need to change it now, this world with too few happy endings
We can resolve to start all over make a new beginning

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

The world is broken into fragments and pieces
That once were joined together in a unified whole
But now too many stand alone - There's too much separation
We can resolve to come together in the new beginning

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

We can break the cycle - We can break the chain
We can start all over - In the new beginning
We can learn, we can teach
We can share the myths the dream the prayer
The notion that we can do better
Change our lives and paths
Create a new world and

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

The whole world's broke and it ain't worth fixing
It's time to start all over, make a new beginning
There's too much fighting, too little understanding
It's time to stop and start all over
Make a new beginning

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

We need to make new symbols
Make new signs
Make a new language
With these we'll define the world

And start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over ...
