So I told my mom that I won $23,000. lol and I told her it was because of a savings bond that I had issued back in 1983, a series EE USA paper savings bond.

She asked me where I got the bond serial # and issue date from. I told her the information was located on my birth certificate.

I told her I put this information into the treasurydirect.gov calculator to see how much it was worth. The response from both my mom and step-dad was "it's a coincidence!"

I said ok and that I still had questions regarding this, but in truth I'm saying "don't BS me. you know damn well it's no coincidence"

It's a coincidence that an EE savings bond, the serial #, and issue date all matched up and produced a record??? Give me a break!!!!

    lol omg....really??????? really???????????

You could always contact the Treasury Department directly and ask them why they think this is happening.
